Grace Community of Topsail’s mission is summarized in Jesus’ Great Commandment and His Great Commission:

“To love God completely and our neighbor sacrificially as we disciple intentionally.”

Love God: Gospel-centered Living

We believe Jesus absorbed God’s righteous wrath against our sin and bridged the gap between the Father and us. The way to restore our hearts and our families is by turning from our self-serving lifestyles, experiencing the radical, life-changing love of God in the gospel of Jesus Christ, and becoming his followers.

Love Our Neighbor: The Church Is a New Community

We believe that you can’t be a spectator in the body of Christ, so our communities ought to be places where people know others and are known. Through our tables groups, family ministries and missions we want to be the church in our community, because “a neighbor close by is better than a family far away” (Proverbs 27:10 NCV).

Disciple Intentionally: To live before the face of God

Discipleship — following Jesus — is to live before God’s face, to dwell in His presence, to be satisfied in all that He is. We follow as creatures of grace, entering into the fellowship of the triune God in whose presence there is fullness of joy, at whose right hand are pleasures forevermore (Psalm 16:11).

Currently, we gather for worship at 9:00am on Sundays, at 127 Sloop Point Road, Hampstead, NC 28443 (this is the Livingstone’s Tabernacle Church Building).

We meet Sunday mornings in borrowed building for worship. So, remember that when you visit we are all really visiting. Livingstones Tabernacle Church has been very gracious to us to let us use their building on Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights.

Steve and Stacey have been married for twenty-six years and they have a daughter, Ashlyn, who is married. For twelve years Steve served as a youth and missions pastor in Myrtle Beach, SC. The Lord moved them from there to rural Illinois to help start a ranch for at-risk teenagers. There they lived with thirty boys, seventy horses, nine dogs, and some cats on one hundred acres of ranch land. The goal was to offer young men a place to escape the problems of home and get a new start in Christ while finishing their high school education and learning vocational skills.
Steve and Stacey returned to Hampstead in 2009 to begin the process of planting a Christ-centered, Bible-teaching church.  From the day that GCT was planted in Hampstead in January of 2011, Steve has mostly been a bi-vocational pastor.  While planting the church for the first five years, Steve owned his own auto-body shop specializing in paintless dent repair while also serving as the NC state director for the establishment of Safe Families for Children in the state of North Carolina.  For the past twenty years Steve has been involved in working with children and families in crisis.  His desire is that the Church would return to the forefront of caring for the most vulnerable people in our communities with the gospel that renews, recovers and regenerates those in crisis for lasting life change.
Steve has his undergraduate degree from North Carolina State University and his Master of Divinity and Doctorate in Biblical Counseling from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.

If you are interested in getting connected with our faith family, your two best opportunities are either to attend our Sunday morning gatherings or our Wednesday evening family programming.

Sunday Morning Gatherings
Our brothers and sisters in Christ at Livingstones Tabernacle Church have graciously allowed us to use their building for worship and teaching. We meet each Sunday morning at 9:00 am at Livingstones Tabernacle on Sloop Point Loop Rd off US Hwy. 17 in Hampstead (right behind the BP Gas Station and the Roger Moore Brick Company).

We invite you to join us for fellowship, singing, and a time of teaching from God’s Word.  We fellowship from 8:45-9:00 am with Coffee, Juice and Donuts before the worship and teaching service. Childcare is available.
Sunday Evening Missional Community
On most Sunday evenings we get together at a house or houses of those in our church body at 6:00pm.  We get together and play some soccer, football, wiffle ball, or some other game with the kids.  After we have worn the kids out we settle down for a Bible study or a discussion about a specific concern in our lives and what God’s Word says about it.  There is usually eating involved and a large amount of fellowship.
Wednesday Evening Gatherings
On Wednesday evenings we gather together for a time of teaching and discipleship. The women gather together to study God’s Word, worship and edification. The men do all the teaching on Wednesday evenings with our children through AWANA.  The youth Bible study is also led by one of the Dads and we focus on God’s Word, discipleship, apologetics, and hanging out in fellowship.
