Leftist Ideology?

This newsletter is not to argue a political point but to expose a religious ideology that is anti-Christ. An ideology is a set of beliefs, values or principles that guide an individual, group, or society. Everyone has an ideology in the sense that everyone holds a system of beliefs, values, or assumptions that shape how they see the world and make decisions.      
In our culture, you often hear the term leftist ideology, recently as it stands as an influence in the killing of Charlie Kirk. I believe that we need to clearly understand and define this term, leftist ideology, so that we can faithfully stand against it in our families and church.

● Leftist ideology encompasses a worldview fundamentally in rebellion against God's created order.
● Leftist ideology is characterized by an excessive focus on individual self-rule, rejecting fixed morality and objective truth, as it constantly seeks to overturn the past.
● Those who adopt leftist ideology see themselves as sovereign and unrestricted by our Creator, rejecting the idea of God and any fundamental limits that He imposes, including those related to human biology and sexuality.
● Leftist ideology proclaims absolutely that truth is determined by personal feelings and desires rather than objective, external reality. They are their own authority.
● Leftist ideology embraces an "unconstrained worldview,” as Thomas Sowell elaborated in his book, A Conflict of Visions. This worldview maintains that no fundamental limitations exist, endeavoring to address perceived shortcomings of the past, which are characterized as oppressive, intolerant, or authoritarian.    
● Leftist ideology has an ever-changing morality as there is no anchor for objective moral reality.  This results in moving further and further away from any moral boundaries.      
● Leftist ideology reframes opposing views as a form of violence and hate that hurt feelings.
● Leftist ideology, as it stands today, focuses on identity politics and symbolic issues before any other issue.
● Leftist ideology opposes divinely established structures ordained by God that provide order, promote flourishing human relationships, and fulfill His purposes on earth. It is a worldview that opposes biblical marriage, the family structure, childrearing, the Church, governmental authority, law and order, and punishment for crimes.

While the leftist ideology today cries for tolerance, acceptance, enlightenment, and progress, those who have chosen to adopt this system of beliefs are enslaved by their Godless ideas. Their ideology is their religion, and it holds them mentally and morally captive. Their ideology is lived out with religious zeal. If you do not support their beliefs, then you are the heretical sinner. There is no grace in their worldview. They divide everybody into allies and enemies. When you disagree with them, it is you who is spewing hate and violence, and you must be silenced. Their arguments are nothing more than emotional outrage that overrides critical thinking and moral discernment.

What are you to do as a Christian? First, do not respond with emotionalism that destroys your ability to engage in critical gospel-centered thinking as a child of the King. We are to live by Jesus’ commandments of His kingdom (Matthew 5-7). Our lives are to be marked by humility, mercy, purity of heart, love, justice, peacemaking, and faithfulness to God. Jesus teaches us to love our enemies, forgive freely, avoid hypocrisy, and seek God’s kingdom above earthly concerns. Second, be mercifully resolved that individuals who are pursuing this leftist ideology are pursuing the “kingdom of Satan,” which is the domain where Satan, the devil, exercises influence, authority, and control in opposition to God’s kingdom. This kingdom is characterized by darkness, deception, rebellion, and spiritual warfare against God and His purposes for humanity (2 Cor 4:4; 1 John 5:19; Eph 2:2; 6:10-18). Third, remember Satan’s kingdom on earth is pushed back by the Kingdom of God, as He, through His Holy Spirit, works in the heart of sinners through our gospel conversations and His Word. LORD, your kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven!
