Put Off - Put On - Let the Spirit of Your MInd be Renewed

February 9, 2018
Hey GCT:
Can you list three areas in your life that you would really like to change for your own personal holiness and the Glory of God?
1.
2.
3.

Have you tried and tried to change but still you have not won the battle over these three areas?
Have you become cynical that real lasting change can really happen?
Have you given up changing?

Ephesians 4:17-24 clearly describes that CHANGE IS ALWAYS POSSIBLE!  YOU CAN CHANGE through the practice of "putting off" and "putting on" while Christ Himself makes us new in the spirit of our minds.  This is a life long calling that we are called to be engaged in as we live on this earth as Children of God, fellow heirs with Christ.  Simply stated:

Putting Off means that we change everything that we have the power to change in our lives, will, affections, heart, soul, strength.

Putting On means in the inner places that you have put off  you plant the traits and the characteristics that Christ has asked you.

As we put off and put on you are being made new in the spirit of your mind by Christ.

What if we choose not to be involved in putting off and putting on? This Sunday we will be digging into the call of God for us to PUT OFF and PUT ON so that He renews the spirit of our mind.  This is an amazing work that we are called to be involved in participating with Christ.  This is a synergistic relationship as we live holy lives.

I look forward to worshipping with you Sunday as we dig into Ephesians 4, and apply it to our lives as a body and as we celebrate the Lord’s Supper.

In Christ, Steve
